4/19/17-Surface and Lateral Area (and Cylinders and Cones)

Warm-Up- 4.19.17

Notes:

Cylinder- Two congruent, parallel, circular bases connected by a rectangle that wraps around the bases (the rectangle is as long as the circumference of the bases, and its height is the height of the cylinder)


Cone- One circle base, and a lateral face that is a sector of a circle that wraps around the base

 

Surface Area (SA) – Total area of all the faces (this includes both the lateral faces and the bases)

Lateral Area (LA) – Area of all the lateral faces (everything except the bases)
